This small introductory success-oriented "FUN" group class designed specifically for toddler students will build a strong foundation for future music making! Through creative and interactive activities such as *solfege elements, singing, movement, coloring, games, and more, the young musicians will start to establish comfort, confidence, and enjoyment in their ability to explore and express. Though they won't be asked to learn instruments in the class yet, they will learn the tools to ensure a smooth transition to individual music instructions. The class is led by two musicians! 

*Solfege is a comprehensive music education method that focuses on singing, sight-reading, ear training, music theory, and rhythmic studies.

COLORFUL SOLFEGE 
​Ages 5-7

Solfege is a comprehensive and beneficial music education method for anyone learning instruments that focuses on singing with syllables of solmization (C=Do D=Re E=Mi), sight-reading, ear training, music theory, and rhythmic studies. It helps children hear melody and rhythms better, and can develop a better sense of pitch (intonation) and articulations, phrasing, and boosts sight-reading and more importantly, musical expression! In this 45 minute FUN group class, students will learn the first musical language by many musical activities including game elements to encourage students to enjoy learning this useful tool! It is strongly recommended that students aged 5-7 take this class in addition to instrument instruction to enhance fundamental musical understanding and skills. We Also have Colorful Solfege Intro Class for students aged 3-4.

PRIVATE SOLFEGE & MUSIC THEORY

This class is recommended for students who have completed all group solfege classes. Music theory is the study of the structure and fundamentals of music. Learning music theory will give you a deeper understanding of how music works, and is essential to all musicians and composers! Music theory is beneficial in enhancing sight-reading skills, help you master pieces faster, and can help you learn to improvise. We will examine the building blocks of music- including melody, harmony, rhythm, notation, key signatures, time signatures, and chord progressions.
