Solfege is a comprehensive and beneficial music education method for anyone learning instruments that focuses on singing with syllables of solmization (C=Do D=Re E=Mi), sight-reading, ear training, music theory, and rhythmic studies. It helps children hear melody and rhythms better, and can develop a better sense of pitch (intonation) and articulations, phrasing, and boosts sight-reading and more importantly, musical expression! In this 45 minute FUN group class, students will learn the first musical language by many musical activities including game elements to encourage students to enjoy learning this useful tool! It is strongly recommended that students aged 5-7 take this class in addition to instrument instruction to enhance fundamental musical understanding and skills. We Also have Colorful Solfege Intro Class for students aged 3-4.

Music theory is beneficial in enhancing sight-reading skills, help you master pieces faster, and can help you learn to improvise. We will examine the building blocks of music- including melody, harmony, rhythm, notation, key signatures, time signatures, and chord progressions.
